Jonas Elijah Nelson, a 19-year-old from Pasadena, California, was last seen on January 6, 2019. He and his father went for a hike near the Chaney Trail in Altadena, but Jonas did not return home. His father reported him missing the following day, January 7. Jonas suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, conditions that require medication, which he reportedly did not have with him at the time of his disappearance.
