A Quiet Saturday Turns Into a Mystery
On May 12, 2018, 65-year-old Stephanie Tyson vanished from a farm near Graysville, Tennessee, close to the Bledsoe and Rhea County line. She left behind her car, purse, phone, and other personal belongings. Authorities believe she walked off on foot into the surrounding wooded area. Her disappearance sparked a massive search effort involving multiple agencies and volunteers.
The Search Efforts
The Bledsoe County Rescue Squad, along with other agencies, conducted a two-day search using drones, dog teams, and foot patrols. Despite these efforts, no trace of Tyson was found. Lieutenant Corey Summers of the Bledsoe County Rescue Squad noted the lack of cell towers in the area made tracking her phone difficult.
