A Quiet November in Gresham Turns Mysterious
On November 11, 2016, 17-year-old Belkis Lizeth Rivas-Galves vanished from Gresham, Oregon. Her disappearance was particularly alarming as it occurred just one day after her foster sister, Julia Lopez Garcia, also 17, went missing. Both girls were under the care of the Office of Refugee Resettlement and were receiving services at the Morrison Center in Gresham. The proximity of their disappearances in both time and location raised immediate concerns about their safety and the possibility of foul play.

Belkis is described as a Hispanic female, standing 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 113 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
