Unsettling Digital Communications
Approximately a month before her disappearance, Renee's sister, Patricia Nichols, began receiving peculiar messages from Renee's Facebook account. The first message indicated an emergency and requested Nichols' phone number. Three weeks later, another message read, "Sister where are I, what's going on." On October 6, a voice message was sent from Renee's account, mentioning "guardian angels," but the voice was unrecognizable to Nichols.
