Desiray Hope Wangle, affectionately known as "Desi," was a 27-year-old woman residing in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born on December 27, 1989, she stood approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighed around 180 pounds, and had brown hair and brown eyes. Desiray was known for her distinctive tattoos: the words "Love" and "Hate" on her wrists, the name "Nick" on the left side of her chest, "Timothy" on her abdomen, and a butterfly with the name "Bella" on her arm. Her ears were pierced, and she was recognized by friends and family as a vibrant individual with a unique style.
Desiray was last seen on June 1, 2017, at her residence in the 400 block of East Stevens Circle in Gulfport. This location marked the final confirmed sighting of her. Despite the passage of time, no further information about her whereabouts has surfaced. Her sudden disappearance left her family and friends in a state of shock and confusion, as there were no immediate signs indicating her plans to leave or any distress she might have been experiencing.
It wasn't until August 8, 2017, over two months after her last known sighting, that Desiray was officially reported missing. The reasons for this delay remain unclear, but it significantly impacted the initial stages of the investigation. In missing person cases, the first 48 to 72 hours are critical for gathering evidence and leads. The extended gap between her disappearance and the report likely hindered the collection of timely information and potential eyewitness accounts.
The Gulfport Police Department took charge of the investigation, assigning case number 17-018489. Despite their efforts, the case has yielded few leads. Desiray's information was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) under the ID MP67381, and her fingerprints are on file. Family DNA samples are pending, which could assist in future identification efforts. However, as of now, there have been no significant developments or discoveries that could shed light on her disappearance. ...Read More
