On the evening of January 8, 2020, 65-year-old Judy Jackson Kennebrew left her home near Jackson Lane in Tallassee, Alabama, around 6:00 p.m. and vanished without a trace. Her sudden disappearance sparked immediate concern among her family and the local community, as it was uncharacteristic for her to leave without notifying anyone. Despite extensive search efforts by the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, no substantial leads have emerged in the years since her disappearance.
At the time she went missing, Judy was described as a 5-foot-3-inch tall African American woman, weighing approximately 170 pounds. She had gray or partially gray hair and brown eyes. Distinctive features included a small scar on the bridge of her nose, a square scar on her upper right thigh, and a burn or skin graft on the top of her right hand. She was possibly wearing gray or black dress slacks when she was last seen.
Authorities noted that Judy might have been suffering from a condition that could impair her judgment, raising concerns about her vulnerability and ability to seek help. This information added urgency to the search efforts, as individuals with cognitive impairments are at increased risk when missing.
In the immediate aftermath of Judy's disappearance, local law enforcement agencies conducted searches in the surrounding areas, including canvassing neighborhoods, checking local hospitals, and following up on any reported sightings. Despite these efforts, no credible leads were found. The community rallied together, sharing information on social media and participating in search parties, but the lack of evidence has been a source of frustration and heartache for all involved....Read More
