A Community Shaken: The Disappearance of a Toddler
Zaela Walker, a vibrant 2-year-old girl from North Las Vegas, Nevada, was last seen on August 22, 2018. She resided with her mother, Lakeia Walker, and maternal grandmother, Carla Richardson, in the 4600 block of Mission Cantina Avenue. Richardson reported Lakeia, Zaela, and Zaela's father, Ricky Beasley, missing on August 25, after not seeing them for several days.
A Mother's Desperate Plea
Prior to the disappearance, Lakeia had left Zaela in Beasley's care on August 15 while she attended a job interview. Beasley refused to return the child, demanding $13,000 from Lakeia in exchange for Zaela's return. Lakeia attempted to raise the money and contacted 911 to seek assistance in retrieving her daughter.
