A Teenager Disappears: The Last Known Day

On May 7, 2018, 16-year-old Jose Ronaldo Antunez Mendez vanished from Oakland, California. Described as a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5'6" tall and weighing 150 pounds, Jose was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, black pants, and carrying a black backpack. Authorities believe he may have left voluntarily, possibly heading to Seattle, Washington, where he had family connections and was believed to be seeking work. 

Initial Classification: Runaway or Something More?

At the time of his disappearance, Jose was classified as a runaway juvenile in good physical and mental condition. This classification suggested that he left home voluntarily, perhaps to pursue employment opportunities in Seattle.
