On December 13, 2017, 37-year-old Alberto Arias-Nunez departed from his home in Cypress, Texas, with the intention of purchasing a vehicle in Tyler, Texas. He informed his wife, Bianca, of his plans and assured her he would return that evening. However, Alberto never made it back, and his sudden disappearance has since baffled both his family and law enforcement.
Alberto's journey to Tyler was to meet a friend who owned a body shop and to inspect a 2005 white Ford Expedition he was considering buying. After arriving in Tyler, he contacted Bianca to confirm his arrival. Reports indicate that he had lunch with his friend and possibly made stops at a tire shop and a restaurant. Despite these interactions, no further communication was received from Alberto, and he failed to return home as expected.
Four days later, on December 17, Alberto's vehicle was found abandoned in the parking lot of David Beard's Catfish Village in Waskom, Texas, approximately 75 miles east of Tyler. The SUV was unlocked, and Alberto's phone, wallet, and keys were missing. There were no immediate signs of foul play at the scene, adding to the perplexity of the situation.
Bianca Arias, along with family members and church community supporters, traveled to East Texas to search for Alberto. They distributed flyers and spoke with locals in hopes of uncovering any information about his whereabouts.
