The Day They Disappeared
On January 25, 2017, 13-year-old Lester Pereira Jr. vanished from his home in Hialeah, Florida, along with his two younger sisters, 11-year-old Roselyn and 3-year-old Briana. The children were last seen just days before the Florida Department of Children and Families was scheduled to take custody of them. When DCF officials arrived at the family's residence at 2225 W. 60th Street, they found the home empty and the family gone.
A Custody Battle Turns Into a Disappearance
The children were taken by their non-custodial parents, Rosa Martinez and Lester Pereira Sr., who fled with them to avoid the court-ordered custody transfer. The couple had already lost custody of a 16-year-old daughter prior to this incident.
