A Rising Star in Jacksonville’s Music Scene

Robert Torrence McLaughlin, known professionally as “Royal Francis” or “Rob Francis,” was a 35-year-old rapper from Jacksonville, Florida. With a passion for music and a growing local following, Robert was dedicated to his craft, often carrying his recordings with him wherever he went. His commitment to his art was evident, and he had an upcoming performance scheduled in Georgia shortly after his disappearance—a show he was eager to attend. 

The Day He Disappeared

On September 24, 2017, Robert spent the morning with his mother, Angela McLaughlin Brantley, watching the Jacksonville Jaguars play against the Baltimore Ravens. After the game, he mentioned plans to play basketball with friends and left her home.
