A Summer Day Turns Tragic

On July 2, 2019, 32-year-old Joshua James Usry was spending a summer afternoon with his wife and children at his mother-in-law’s residence in Coosa, Georgia, a rural area just outside Rome. The family was enjoying time by the pool when Joshua announced he was going for a walk. He left his shoes by the poolside and walked off barefoot. His shirt was later discovered on a trail leading into the nearby woods. That was the last confirmed sighting of Joshua Usry.  

A Man with Distinctive Features

Joshua Usry stood 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed approximately 210 pounds. He was bald with a red beard and had several distinctive tattoos: a Superman symbol on his upper right arm and the word “kryptonite” in graffiti-style lettering on his left forearm.
