The Man Behind KA Investments

Rodney Dean Allen, a Boise native born on March 9, 1952, was a seasoned investment advisor and the sole proprietor of KA Investments, LLC. With a professional background that also included roles as a construction project manager and cost estimator, Allen was well-regarded in his community. His firm, KA Investments, operated in Boise, Idaho, and catered to a clientele seeking financial growth and stability. However, beneath the surface of this seemingly reputable business lay a web of deceit that would eventually unravel, leading to Allen's mysterious disappearance.

The Fraudulent Scheme Unveiled

Between 2016 and 2017, Allen orchestrated a fraudulent scheme that defrauded numerous clients of their investments. He provided falsified monthly statements, indicating positive returns when, in reality, clients were incurring significant losses. For instance, in November 2016, Allen reported a 1.903% gain to a client, whereas the actual performance reflected a 36.01% loss. Disappearance Amidst Legal Turmoil

On April 20, 2017, Allen was reported missing. Two days later, his pickup truck was discovered abandoned near the Snake River, approximately six miles upstream from Swan Falls Dam in south Ada County. Despite extensive searches by law enforcement, including the use of cadaver dogs, no trace of Allen was found.

Indictment and Ongoing Investigation

In January 2018, a federal grand jury indicted Allen on ten counts of wire fraud, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The indictment detailed his fraudulent activities and the misappropriation of client funds. The FBI has since offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to Allen's arrest, while Crime Stoppers has added an additional $1,000 reward. ...Read More
