On April 23, 1993, 19-year-old Linh Kenneth Tran vanished while surfing off Laguna Beach along Highway 1 near Laguna Road in Santa Cruz County, California. Born on May 16, 1973, Linh was a young Asian-American man with black hair and brown eyes. He stood 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed approximately 125 pounds. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a swimsuit and a black Casio digital watch with a plastic band .
Witnesses reported that Linh was surfing when a large wave swept him away. Despite immediate search efforts, he was never seen again. The incident occurred in an area known for its strong currents and unpredictable surf conditions, which have been hazardous for even experienced surfers. Authorities presume that Linh drowned, but his body was never recovered .

He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through.
