In December 2019, 51-year-old Daniel Lee Kriz relocated from Scotia, New York, to Florida, borrowing his brother's truck for the move. Known for his adventurous spirit, Kriz was drawn to the vibrant atmosphere of Daytona Beach, especially during the renowned Bike Week. Described by his sister as someone who "liked to be on his motorcycle and just go," Kriz was a man who embraced the open road and the freedom it offered. However, his past was marred by legal troubles, and he was known to carry large amounts of cash, a habit that may have made him vulnerable.
On February 5, 2020, Kriz spent several hours at Froggy's Saloon in Daytona Beach, from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Surveillance footage later captured him purchasing cigarettes at a nearby Circle K gas station. The following morning, his brother's truck was seen entering Waterfront Park in Palm Coast, but the driver's identity remains unknown. This sequence of events marks the last confirmed sightings of Kriz.
In March 2020, residents reported a truck that had been parked for weeks at Waterfront Park. Authorities identified it as the vehicle Kriz had borrowed. Inside, they found his wallet and cell phone, but there was no sign of Kriz himself. The presence of these personal items suggested that he had not planned to leave voluntarily.
On March 15, 2020, Kriz's brother filed a missing person report with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. This action came after he retrieved the truck from authorities, unaware of the full circumstances surrounding his brother's disappearance. The delay in reporting may have hindered early investigative efforts. ...Read More
