Wanda Fay Branham, a 68-year-old resident of Logan County, West Virginia, lived a modest and solitary life. Described as warm-hearted and well-known in her community, she resided alone and did not own a vehicle. Occasionally, she would leave home for a couple of days, but she always returned. Her sudden and prolonged absence in early 2014 was both uncharacteristic and alarming to those who knew her .
The Day She Disappeared
On February 8, 2014, around 2:00 p.m., Wanda was last seen in the Justice Addition area of Logan County. An eyewitness reported seeing her, appearing intoxicated, seated between two unidentified Caucasian males in a red 1980s model Chevrolet short-bed pickup truck.
