A Quiet Departure
On May 22, 2019, 30-year-old Jane Irene Schreur was dropped off by a family member on the north side of Mason City, Iowa. That day marked the last time her loved ones would see or hear from her. Jane, also known by the surname Mikkelson, was described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with green eyes and blond or strawberry-colored hair. She was possibly wearing jeans, a sweatshirt, and a gray hooded windbreaker at the time of her disappearance.
Delayed Alarm
Despite her absence, Jane was not reported missing until November 22, 2019—six months after she was last seen. A relative contacted the Mason City Police Department, expressing concern over the prolonged lack of contact.
