A Quiet Night Turns Mysterious
On the evening of August 29, 2014, Robert Anthony Roberson, a 48-year-old resident of Newbern, Tennessee, found himself in an unexpected predicament. While driving his 1995 red Dodge Dakota along Holly Springs Cemetery Road in rural Dyer County, the vehicle became stuck in a ditch. Accompanied by a female passenger, Roberson's situation seemed manageable. The woman decided to walk to a nearby residence to seek assistance, leaving Roberson with the vehicle. However, upon her return with help, Roberson had vanished without a trace.
The Initial Search and Discovery
When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered Roberson's truck still lodged in the ditch. Inside the vehicle, his wallet and cell phone were left behind, suggesting he had not planned to be away for long. Evidence at the scene indicated that someone had attempted to free the truck, but there was no sign of Roberson.
