On April 1, 2020, 37-year-old Tom Peterman, IV, was last seen in Niland, California, a small town in Imperial County. Known to frequent the nearby Slab City area, Peterman was living a transient lifestyle at the time of his disappearance. Originally from Bonnieville, Kentucky, with ties to Bowling Green, he had relocated to California, where he was last seen by his wife near Slab City .
After his last sighting on April 1, 2020, there were reports that Peterman was released from a regional medical center in El Centro, California, on June 9, 2020. Subsequent sightings placed him in various locations, including Holtville and El Centro, as well as back in Slab City and Niland. Despite these reports, no confirmed contact has been made since his release from the medical center .
Peterman is described as a white male with red/auburn hair and blue eyes, standing approximately 5'5" tall and weighing around 150 pounds. He has several distinctive tattoos: a cross on his mid-back, a picture of his son on his left shoulder, Chinese symbols on his chest, the word "Hitman" in Old English script on his right forearm, and random letters on his right calf. Additionally, he has a metal plate in his chest and neck area from a previous surgery .
The Imperial County Sheriff's Office has been involved in the search for Peterman, with case number 2008-1048 assigned to his disappearance. His family, particularly his wife, has been actively seeking information and urging the public to share any sightings or knowledge of his whereabouts.
