Roy Neil Searchwell Jr., a 29-year-old Jamaican immigrant, had recently embarked on a new chapter in Raleigh, North Carolina. Having moved to the United States three years prior, he initially resided with his father in New Jersey before relocating to Raleigh just two months before his disappearance. The Day He Disappeared

On October 26, 1995, Roy was last seen at his residence on St. Augustine Avenue in Raleigh. He left his home in his vehicle, a routine occurrence, but this time he did not return. Four days later, on October 30, his vehicle was discovered abandoned in a rural area on Grasshopper Road near Knightdale, North Carolina. The discovery was alarming: a significant amount of blood was found in the trunk, later confirmed to be Roy's. There were no other signs of Roy at the scene.
