A Promising Teenager’s Life Takes a Sudden Turn

Nathaniel James William Holmes was born on November 5, 2000, to Wendy Keadle and Ben Holmes. Raised in Arvada, Colorado, Nathaniel grew up with two older sisters and a younger brother. After his parents' divorce when he was eight, Nathaniel and his siblings lived with their father but maintained regular visits with their mother. The family was close-knit, sharing experiences like traveling to Canada, Mexico, Scotland, and even going on a safari in Africa. Nathaniel had a passion for video games, hunting, fishing, and played the bagpipes alongside his father in the band Celtic Legacy.  

Struggles with Education and a New Environment

Nathaniel attended Arvada High School but faced academic challenges. Described as shy and introverted, he struggled with the traditional school environment. In the fall of 2017, his parents attempted homeschooling, but it proved unsuccessful. Consequently, they enrolled him at Hidden Lake High School in Westminster, an alternative program aimed at helping students graduate.
