Denis Ariel Revolorio Perez, a 24-year-old Guatemalan man, embarked on a perilous journey in April 2018, seeking a better life in the United States. Like many migrants from Central America, Denis faced economic hardship and limited opportunities in his homeland. His decision to migrate was driven by the hope of providing a more stable future for himself and his loved ones.

The Fateful Crossing

On April 30, 2018, Denis and a friend attempted to cross the Rio Grande near McAllen, Texas. The Rio Grande, a natural border between the U.S. and Mexico, is notorious for its strong currents and unpredictable conditions. During the crossing, Denis's companion lost sight of him.
