Andres Smith Marcelo, a 27-year-old engineer from Honduras, embarked on a journey to the United States in April 2019, seeking a better future for his family. Leaving behind his wife, Luz María Romero, and their two daughters, Dafne and Valeria, Andres departed Honduras on April 5, 2019. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) registered Andres as a missing person under case number MP65525, with his last known location listed as McAllen, Texas. Despite this official recognition, there have been no significant leads or developments in his case.
Andres's disappearance has left his family in a state of perpetual anguish. His wife and children, along with his parents and siblings, have tirelessly searched for him, traveling to various locations and appealing to authorities for assistance.
