Andres Smith Marcelo, a 27-year-old engineer from Honduras, embarked on a journey to the United States in April 2019, seeking a better future for his family. Leaving behind his wife, Luz María Romero, and their two daughters, Dafne and Valeria, Andres departed Honduras on April 5, 2019. His last known contact was on April 14, 2019, in Tamaulipas, Mexico, a region notorious for its dangers to migrants.

The Last Known Movements

Andres planned to cross into the United States near Hidalgo County, Texas, possibly through McAllen. However, after his last communication, he vanished without a trace. His family, desperate for answers, reported his disappearance to the Dirección General de Protección al Hondureño Migrante and sought assistance from the Honduran Consulate in Tapachula, Mexico.

Official Recognition and Ongoing Search

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) registered Andres as a missing person under case number MP65525, with his last known location listed as McAllen, Texas. Despite this official recognition, there have been no significant leads or developments in his case.
