On July 28, 2017, 21-year-old Roberto Franco Jr. departed from his hometown of Pasadena, Texas, embarking on what was intended to be a brief trip to Agualeguas, Nuevo León, Mexico, to visit family. Accompanied by his friend, Juan Francisco Hernandez, the two set off in a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe bearing Texas license plate GNY4766. Franco, described as a Hispanic male standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 290 pounds, was last seen wearing an orange Magellan shirt, light beige carpenter shorts, camouflage Crocs, and a black cap adorned with a black and white American flag. Notably, he has a distinctive tattoo of his last name, "Franco," in large black script on his right forearm.
The duo's journey took them across the U.S.-Mexico border at Los Indios, Texas. This crossing was the last confirmed sighting of both men. They never arrived at their intended destination in Agualeguas, and subsequent efforts to locate them have been unsuccessful. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance remain unclear, with no concrete evidence pointing to their whereabouts or what transpired after they crossed into Mexico.
In the days following her son's disappearance, Franco's mother received a harrowing phone call demanding a ransom for the safe return of both men. In a desperate attempt to secure their release, she wired $5,000 to the caller. Tragically, this payment yielded no results, and there has been no further communication or leads stemming from this incident.
The case of Roberto Franco Jr. remains open and is being investigated by the Pasadena Police Department in Texas. Despite the passage of time, authorities continue to seek information that could shed light on the circumstances of his disappearance. Public appeals have been made through various platforms, including the Texas Department of Public Safety's Missing Persons Clearinghouse and media outlets, to encourage anyone with information to come forward. ...Read More
