The Disappearance of Sandy Rideout
In April 2006, Sandy L. Rideout, a 41-year-old woman from Ferndale, Washington, was last seen in Bellingham. Despite her residence in Ferndale, it was believed that she frequented the Seattle area during that time. Shortly after her disappearance, the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office filed a missing person report, but for years, her whereabouts remained unknown.
A Grim Discovery Near Gold Bar
On November 25, 2015, a logger working on privately-owned timberland near Gold Bar, approximately five miles west of State Route 2 between Gold Bar and Index, stumbled upon a human skull. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office was notified, and the remains were sent to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office for identification.
