The perpetrator, later dubbed the Golden State Killer, was responsible for at least 13 murders, over 50 rapes, and more than 100 burglaries across the state. Initially, these crimes were not linked, leading investigators to believe they were dealing with multiple offenders.
The Early Years: Visalia Ransacker
The criminal's early activities, spanning from April 1974 to December 1975, earned him the moniker "Visalia Ransacker." During this period, he committed over 100 burglaries in Visalia, California.
