The Last Evening: A Routine Ride Turns Into a Mystery

On the evening of September 16, 2018, 26-year-old Zachary Bryan Burkey left his mother’s home in the 3500 block of Camp Street in New Orleans, Louisiana, around 7:00 p.m. He told his mother he was going for a bike ride and would return soon, as he had work early the next morning. Dressed in a dark gray t-shirt, black athletic shorts, and red and black flip-flops, Zachary rode off on his black mountain bike with distinctive thick rims.
