A Quiet Life in Topeka

Willard Thomas Marks, known to friends and family as "Tom," was a 55-year-old man residing in Topeka, Kansas. Standing at 6'2" and weighing around 200 pounds, he was a distinctive figure with graying brown hair and blue-gray eyes. Despite his imposing stature, those who knew him described him as gentle and introspective. Marks had a history of mental illness, which led to multiple hospitalizations, including time at a state psychiatric facility in Colorado. He also received mental health services in Kansas, indicating a long-standing struggle with his condition.  

The Last Known Sighting

On July 10, 2005, Marks was last seen by law enforcement officers in Topeka. He was attempting to hitchhike and was subsequently dropped off at the intersection of 6th Street and Croco Road. This location, situated on the eastern edge of Topeka, was the final confirmed sighting of him.
