On January 18, 2011, 24-year-old Jorge Cruz Hernandez was last seen in Corona, California. Described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, Jorge was known to have a tattoo on his left arm reading "LA Hernandez" . At the time of his disappearance, he was seeking employment, reaching out to friends and family for work references.
Three days after Jorge's disappearance, on January 21, 2011, his close friend and nephew received alarming phone calls from an unknown male. The caller claimed that Jorge was being held for ransom. In a desperate attempt to secure his release, the family member and friend sent money via wire transfer. Tragically, Jorge never returned, and the authenticity of the ransom calls remains unverified .
The Corona Police Department took charge of the investigation, assigning case number 111023. Despite efforts, including listing Jorge in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) under case number MP68711, no substantial leads have emerged. The lack of concrete evidence and the mysterious nature of the ransom calls have posed significant challenges to investigators.
Over the years, Jorge's case has been featured on platforms like Uncovered and Crime Solvers Central, aiming to keep the public informed and engaged. These platforms have provided detailed information about Jorge's disappearance, encouraging individuals to come forward with any potential leads .
