James Matthew Zinza, affectionately known as "Jimmy" to his family and friends, was last seen in the Mesa/Phoenix area of Arizona on February 28, 1992. At the time, he was 30 years old, standing approximately 5'11" tall and weighing between 180 to 210 pounds. He had sandy-colored hair, which was graying and thinning, and striking blue eyes. Jimmy was known for his nomadic lifestyle, often moving between cities like Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, and Flagstaff without keeping his family informed of his whereabouts .
Jimmy's transient lifestyle made it challenging for his family to maintain regular contact. He did not own a car and relied on his ten-speed bicycle for transportation. His interests included spending time in parks, caring for cats, and enjoying Domino's pizza. Despite his family's efforts, they lost touch with him after February 1992. It wasn't until December 2, 2008, that his brother, John Zinza, officially reported him missing, marking a 16-year gap since his last known contact .
The Zinza family faced another tragedy when Jimmy's younger brother, Thomas Zinza, who suffered from schizophrenia, went missing in Pennsylvania in 2008. Thomas's remains were discovered two years later in a wooded area, with no signs of foul play suspected in his death. This series of unfortunate events has left the Zinza family with lingering questions and a deep sense of loss .
The Mesa Police Department has been the primary agency investigating Jimmy's disappearance. Despite numerous leads and public appeals for information, all efforts have thus far yielded no significant breakthroughs. Jimmy's case is listed as "Endangered Missing," and his DNA is available for comparison in unidentified remains databases ....Read More
