Barry Butler O'Brien, a 33-year-old self-employed woodcutter, was last seen on February 1, 1992, in Ben Lomond, California. Known for his transient lifestyle, O'Brien lived out of his vehicle and had no permanent address, with his last known residence in the Boulder Creek area. He frequented the San Lorenzo Valley and had expressed intentions of traveling to Oregon.

Distinctive Features and Aliases

Standing at 6'2" and weighing 190 pounds, O'Brien had brown hair and green eyes. He bore a bullet wound scar on his knee, a scar on his right wrist, and a tattoo of the letter "B" on his right forearm. He was also known to use the aliases "Barry O'Brian" and "Barry Fowler," and his nickname was "Jewels."

The Disappearance

On the day he vanished, O'Brien was reportedly taking his black 1991 Ford Aerostar to a smog shop in Santa Cruz. The vehicle, bearing California license plate number 3TLR809, was serviced, but after that day, O'Brien was never heard from again.
