On the afternoon of May 30, 1996, 19-year-old Anthony Deval Phillips set out on his bicycle in Chicago, Illinois. He was last seen around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Damen and Fargo Avenues, reportedly en route to visit a friend. Clad in a gray Adidas fleece sweater, black Guess jeans, and Adidas sneakers, Anthony never arrived at his destination and has not been heard from since.
Anthony's disappearance was immediately concerning to his family and friends. Described as a responsible and sociable young man, it was uncharacteristic for him to vanish without a trace. The area where he was last seen is a residential neighborhood, and his intended visit to a friend's house was a routine activity. Despite these familiar surroundings, no witnesses have come forward with information about his movements after 4:30 p.m. that day.
The Chicago Police Department initiated an investigation into Anthony's disappearance, classifying it as an endangered missing person case. Detective Schroars was assigned to the case, and efforts were made to locate Anthony through interviews, area searches, and public appeals. However, the investigation faced significant challenges due to the lack of physical evidence and eyewitness accounts. No substantial leads have emerged over the years, and the case remains unsolved.
At the time of his disappearance, Anthony was described as an African-American male, standing between 6'0" and 6'7" tall, and weighing between 170 and 175 pounds. He had black hair, brown eyes, and pierced ears. His nicknames included "Tony" and "Indo." Dental and fingerprint records were not available, but DNA samples have been collected for identification purposes. ...Read More
