A Promising Young Life Ended Prematurely

In the early hours of October 18, 2014, the city of Oakland was shaken by the tragic loss of 17-year-old Breon Edward Cole. Known for his vibrant spirit and potential, Breon's life was abruptly cut short, leaving a void in the hearts of his family and community. As of today, the circumstances surrounding his death remain shrouded in mystery, with no arrests made and no clear motive identified.

The Fateful Night on Mead Avenue

At approximately 2:16 a.m., Oakland police responded to reports of a shooting in the 800 block of Mead Avenue, a residential area nestled between Market Street and San Pablo Avenue in West Oakland.
