A Promising Life Cut Short

On May 10, 2017, the serene community of Treasure Island in San Francisco was shaken by a tragic event. At approximately 5:30 p.m., 30-year-old Yuchuan Guo was discovered fatally shot in his residence on the 900 block of Avenue B. The San Francisco medical examiner's office confirmed his identity shortly after the incident. Guo, a dedicated graduate student at San Francisco State University (SF State), was on the cusp of completing his master's degree in international relations. His sudden and violent death left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the academic community.

A Scholar and Community Member

Originally from China, Guo had spent the past two years immersing himself in his studies at SF State. His commitment to understanding global affairs was evident to his professors and peers.
