A Life Cut Short
On April 16, 2016, the Birmingham community was shaken by the tragic death of 40-year-old Thebious Neuron Roland. Born on June 2, 1975, Roland was a resident of Jefferson County and an entrepreneur known for his dedication and hard work. He was a member of the 23rd Street Baptist Church Ensley and a 1993 graduate of A.H. Parker High School. His untimely death left a void in the lives of his family, friends, and the broader community.
The Tragic Incident
On that fateful afternoon, around 2:15 p.m., police responded to a call in the 600 block of 6th Avenue North in the Smithfield community. Upon arrival, they discovered Roland suffering from gunshot wounds and other unspecified injuries. Despite prompt medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
