A Life Cut Short
On the evening of September 10, 2017, the Roseland neighborhood on Chicago's Far South Side was shaken by the tragic death of 22-year-old Steven Reid. Responding to reports of a shooting around 8 p.m., police officers discovered Reid with a fatal gunshot wound to the head in the 11100 block of South Michigan Avenue. Despite being rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, he was pronounced dead at 11:03 p.m. Reid resided in the West Pullman neighborhood, leaving behind a community mourning the loss of a young life with unfulfilled potential.

In the wake of his passing, those who knew Steven Reid shared their memories and grief on platforms like Gun Memorial. Friends and family described him as a "sweet," "respectful," and "caring" individual with a "huge heart." He was remembered for his outgoing and energetic personality, always ready to lend a helping hand.
