Discovery of the Remains
In 2003, a grim discovery was made in a wooded area near the Walmart off Juliet Boulevard in North Naples, Florida. Construction workers unearthed skeletal remains, later identified as those of Sergio Guerrero, a 44-year-old man. The Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Guerrero had died from gunshot wounds, marking the beginning of a complex and unresolved homicide investigation.
The Crime Scene
The area where Guerrero's remains were found had previously been used as a campsite by homeless individuals. Despite its transient population, the specific location of the body suggested a deliberate attempt to conceal the crime.
