On March 26, 2020, the city of Louisville, Kentucky, was shaken by the tragic death of Robert Nathaniel Mitchem IV, affectionately known as "Lil' Robert." Born on October 4, 1996, Robert was a 23-year-old African American man whose life was abruptly ended, leaving a void in the hearts of his family and community. Described as polite, personable, and possessing a contagious smile, Robert had an innate ability to make those around him feel special. His unexpected death not only devastated his loved ones but also highlighted the ongoing issue of unresolved violent crimes in the area.

The Fateful Evening

Details surrounding the events leading up to Robert's death remain scarce. What is known is that on that fateful evening, Robert was involved in a shooting incident near the intersection of South 25th Street and Woodland Avenue in Louisville's West End.
