On June 9, 2017, the life of 18-year-old Romaine Elkins was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. A resident of Naperville, Illinois, Romaine was fatally shot in Chicago's Austin neighborhood, leaving his family and community devastated. Despite the passage of time, his murder remains unsolved, and the search for justice continues.
The Fateful Evening
Around 5:15 p.m. on that ill-fated Friday, Romaine was standing in the 1500 block of North Linder Avenue. A dark-colored SUV approached, and without warning, occupants of the vehicle opened fire, striking him in the chest.
