A Promising Life Cut Short

On March 31, 2020, the vibrant community of Smoketown in Louisville, Kentucky, was rocked by a tragic event that claimed the life of 16-year-old Monterry Hamilton. Described by those who knew him as a funny and authentic young man, Monterry's untimely death left a void that continues to be felt deeply by his family and friends.

The Fateful Evening

That evening, Louisville Metro Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of Coke Street around 8:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Monterry and another male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
