Introduction: The Tragic End of a Rising Star

On May 31, 2014, the Chicago music scene was shaken by the untimely death of 21-year-old rapper McArthur T. Swindle, known to fans as OTF Nunu or Nuski. As a burgeoning artist and cousin to established rapper Lil Durk, Swindle's potential seemed boundless. His life was abruptly ended in a shooting that remains unsolved, highlighting the persistent issue of violence in Chicago's South Side.

The Fatal Incident: A Day Marked by Violence

The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the parking lot of the Chatham Village Square Mall, located in the 700 block of East 87th Street. Swindle was seated in a white SUV when an unidentified assailant approached on foot and opened fire. Despite being struck multiple times, Swindle attempted to flee but crashed the vehicle into a storefront.
