A Fateful Departure
On January 31, 1995, 19-year-old Lucas Gonzales left his home in Golden, Colorado, accompanied by his uncle. They departed in a white, two-door 1992 Hyundai Excel around 2 p.m., with Lucas informing his wife that he would return within 45 minutes. The uncle later reported that he dropped Lucas off near 46th Avenue and Federal Boulevard in Denver. Tragically, Lucas was never heard from again.
The Grim Discovery
Nearly seven weeks later, on March 19, 1995, hikers traversing the Beaver Brook Trail on Lookout Mountain stumbled upon a lifeless body. The remains were identified as those of Lucas Gonzales.
