A Life Cut Short Near Mosswood Park
On the evening of November 2, 2015, tragedy struck near Oakland's Mosswood Park. At approximately 7:32 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3600 block of Broadway. Upon arrival, they discovered 39-year-old Frank R. Sowokinos suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Sowokinos was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
