A Quiet Evening Turns Deadly
On the evening of July 14, 2013, the Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago was rocked by a tragic incident that left one man dead and a woman seriously injured. Ernest J. Carter, a 35-year-old resident of the 4000 block of West 21st Street, was seated in a parked car alongside a 37-year-old woman in the 4000 block of West Cullerton Street. The tranquility of their evening was shattered around 11 p.m. when two male assailants approached from behind and opened fire on the vehicle.
Immediate Aftermath and Medical Response
