On the evening of Friday, August 8, 2014, the tranquility of Northwest Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 10:52 p.m., 23-year-old Dondre Dyer was found at the intersection of Warder Street and Quebec Place, NW, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the prompt response of emergency services, Dyer succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) swiftly initiated an investigation into the homicide. Officers canvassed the area, seeking witnesses and gathering any available evidence.
