A Tragic Morning in Indianapolis

On November 27, 2016, the city of Indianapolis awoke to a series of violent incidents that would leave the community shaken. Among these was the fatal shooting of 60-year-old Derann Alfonzo. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. near the intersection of 30th Street and Eastern Avenue. Responding officers found Alfonzo deceased at the scene, while 84-year-old Helen Lane suffered injuries during the same event. Both victims were residents of Indianapolis.

A Day Marked by Violence

The day of Alfonzo's death was particularly harrowing for Indianapolis. Six individuals were shot in separate incidents, resulting in three fatalities, including a 15-year-old boy.
