Discovery of the Crime Scene
On the morning of December 7, 2004, residents of the 1900 block of 17th Street, SE, Washington, D.C., were met with a grim scene. The lifeless body of 43-year-old Darryl Lee Jefferson was discovered lying in front of 1924 17th Street, SE. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded promptly to the scene, initiating an investigation into what would become a perplexing unsolved homicide.
Cause of Death
An autopsy revealed that Jefferson's death resulted from blunt force impact trauma.
