The city of Louisville, Kentucky, has witnessed numerous tragedies over the years, but few resonate as deeply as the unsolved murder of Damion "Snoop" Morton. This case not only highlights the personal loss endured by Morton's family but also underscores the broader challenges faced by communities grappling with unresolved violent crimes.
On April 8, 2017, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of Cypress Street, located in the Parkland neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 38-year-old Damion Morton inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency medical services transported him to University Hospital, where he remained in critical condition until he succumbed to his injuries on April 11, 2017.

"Being at the hospital, knowing that there was nothing that I could do," she lamented. "You know mothers feel like they could be there with their children, but it was out of my hands. I couldn't do anything to help my child."
Despite the efforts of the LMPD Homicide Unit, no arrests have been made in connection with Morton's murder. Prentice expressed frustration over the lack of communication from investigators, noting that detectives provided their contact information at the hospital but failed to follow up afterward. This lack of closure has left the family in a state of perpetual anguish, yearning for answers that remain elusive. ...Read More
