His prominence in the rodeo circuit endeared him to the locals, who warmly welcomed the Garsee family into their midst. Over the years, Bill's dedication to public service led him to serve as the Precinct 3 Constable for seven years, a role for which he accepted a nominal salary of just $1 per year. This token compensation underscored his commitment to the well-being and safety of his fellow residents.
The Tragic Day: April 1, 1984
On a seemingly ordinary Sunday, April 1, 1984, tragedy struck the Garsee family. While tending to his farm, a vehicle approached Bill's property.
