On the evening of July 25, 2002, at approximately 8:55 PM, the tranquility of Northeast Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At 619 14th Place, NE, 32-year-old Charlene Dorsey was fatally shot, her life abruptly ended in a violent act that left the community in shock and mourning.

Following the incident, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) swiftly initiated an investigation into Dorsey's murder.
